Growing up in New York, I was immersed in writing, performing and recording music.  I found the recording process so enjoyable that I decided to step off the stage and dive headfirst into a career spent mixing for both music and picture.  Based in Southern California the past twenty five years, sound mixing has taken me across America and throughout Europe.

 

Commercials are my favorite medium.  Whether on a sound stage, a remote location or a crowded city street, a crew of hardworking and creative individuals gather together as a team to tell a story.  Together we produce mini-epics designed to reach beyond the screen, connect with our emotions and hopefully demand a response.  And we have fun doing it too!

 

As a former collegiate athlete, I understand the benefits of working together as a team.  My crew approaches each job with a highly collaborative attitude.  We serve the director's vison and support each craft to do the same.  Consequently, we've developed many great working relatonships with some of the best crews in Hollywood.

 

I'm grateful to be requested by commercial directors who appreciate the palette of sound I provide for them to choose from during the editing process.  Effective use of sound does more than deliver the written text, it conveys an additional sensory element to envelop the audience in your message.  Whether that calls for a boldly delivered shout or the sound of the slightest breath, I enjoy the challenge of capturing the nuance of each actor's performance.
